Ouchijuku, located in Minamiaizu, Fukushima Prefecture, prospered as an important post town on the road connecting Aizuwakamatsu City and Nikko city during the Edo period.

Today, traditional houses with thatched roofs still stand along the road, retaining the appearance of the Edo period, and are used as shops and residences to maintain this landscape.

In 1981, it was designated as a nationally selected important traditional building preservation district.

Hot spring温泉

The name Tokusa Onsen comes from the fact that the plant tokusa grew in large numbers, and it is said that it was discovered about 1,000 years ago and was the "hidden hot spring of Aizu." The rock hot spring that gushes out from the river will soothe your mind and body while listening to the same clear murmuring of the stream as you can with the seasonal nature.
